Welcome to Macheesmo
Jump to RecipeFood and cooking have become much too serious. These things which should be fun and somewhat whimsical have been lost to a world of processed, fast, and unhealthy food. The goal of this site is to explore cooking and food and also show people that it can be fun, exciting, and rewarding.
About me
My name is Nick and I write and manage Macheesmo. I’m 25 and I have a “normal” day job. When I’m not working, I love to cook and love everything food related. I’ve worked in a few restaurants throughout my life, but I have no formal training exactly. That said, I experiment with all types of cooking and love trying new stuff.
Warning: Some of the things I cook might suck. I will post them anyway and hopefully I will make it funny and entertaining. You can learn something from my abysmal failures.
What is Macheesmo?
Macheesmo is about empowerment in the kitchen. I want people to feel confident around food. One thing that we can control is what we eat and what we feed those we care about. That’s why the motto for this site is: Cook something.
When you proudly go out on a Saturday night in a black t-shirt with flour stuck to it, that is Macheesmo. When you spend two days carefully preparing ribs that your friends devour in ten minutes, that is Macheesmo. When you can confidently cook for your girlfriend’s mom… Well, you get the idea.
I will post those triumphs (if I have them) and the guaranteed failures that come along the way.
I have a feeling there are many people out there who want Macheesmo, or have some and want more. This site is for those people. So check back soon and this thing should be purring along.
Before I started my food blog, I would find other food blogs that I liked and read their first few posts. Sometimes starting is the most difficult part (oh, and finishing and, of course, the middle can be a challenge also, but you’ve got to start somewhere). Anyway, I also enjoy cooking and love sharing my joy about it with others. I’m looking forward to getting to know Macheesmo better.
