I use a basic enriched dough for this pastry which is easy to work with and puffs up beautifully. It's a great beginner dough.
Besides cherries, you just need a few ingredients for this filling - mostly cream cheese!
Roll out the dough and then spread on the filling and dot with cherries. Roll it up and shape it into a knot.
Brush with Egg wash and cut some slits in the pastry. Bake until golden brown and cooked through (70 minutes). Slice and serve!
