Tuesday Treat: A Mini Workhorse!

Over the last few weeks, I realized that I’ve been using my mini-food processor more than normal.

It’s not a piece of kitchen equipment that a lot of people rank highly. Most people choose to just go with the large model of food processor if they are going to get one.

But there are plenty of times when a smaller model just makes sense. It’s easier to clean and works great when you need to process under two cups of something.

Even though I just did a giveaway on Thursday, I’m in a giving mood so here’s another one for ya!

What a Workhorse!

The mini food processor I’m giving away here is nothing fancy. It’s basically just two blades that spin really really fast. It has two speeds: fast and faster.

I love working with mine though because it’s really light, it can be stored easier than the larger version, and it’s much easier to clean also.

Here’s just a few of the recipes I’ve used mine for over the last month:

Date Cinnamon Rolls

Black Bottom PB Pie

Jerk Pulled Pork

I would say that I use mine at least once a week without question.

  1. This would be so helpful to make a small batch of salsa with the first of my ripened tomatoes and peppers!

  2. I wish I had one the other day when I needed to puree a bunch of beets to make Jeni’s Beet Ice Cream with Mascarpone, Orange Zest, and Poppy Seeds. Best ice cream ever, by the way!

  3. I’d make pesto because right now i use my minichopper i got for 3 dollars at walmart and it’s tiny! And i dont know what happened to the first post of mine but it is messed up!

  4. I really would love one of these! I want to make some homemade applesauce like my grama used to make. Yummy

  5. Grinding spices, various dips and jobs that I end up doing by hand because I don’t want to haul out the big processor.

  6. This time of year it’s pesto. Basil pesto with pine nuts. Arugula pesto with walnuts. Garlic scape pesto too.

  7. I’ve been dying for a good way to make hummus and pesto and I’ve been eyeing these little guys for months!

  8. This really yummy chickpea and artichoke spread from the Vegetarians times website that I’m currently in love with!

  9. Pesto! I have a mini (even tinier than this, I think) food processor that doesn’t have a feed tube, so I am definitely looking to upgrade :)

  10. The green goddess salad dressing. Haven’t made it yet this year but this would make it so much easier.

  11. The smaller size makes so much sense for small batches. Easier to clean and store sounds like a winner.

  12. I used to use mine all the time before it died! Salsa, pesto, the possibilities are endless!

  13. I would love to have this for making pesto! Also, chopping garlic because that is one of my least favorite things to chop!

  14. I JUST made a pesto with my big food processor last night that this would have been perfect for!

  15. I would use it to chop the cilantro, garlic, onions, and jalapenos i put in quite a few dishes i make.

  16. I love using a food processor to chop onions, carrots, etc. to make anything! Veggie muffins, soup, casseroles, etc. It’s just SOOO big and a PAIN to wash!

  17. I’ve been thinking about getting a food processor actually, because I am just the slowest person in the kitchen (though I kind of like it that way.

Chopping onions, making tomato sauces, hummus etc. would be a breeze…

It’d be good for fruit purees too, I think.

  18. I would love to have one of these! Sometimes I just don’t want to drag the big processor out. I would use it for the baby food that I make, grinding up grains, salsa…and probably a lot of other things!

  19. It’s canning season and I’d use it for help in chopping green tomatoes for my relish! I’d also use it for so much more this season and beyond. It would get a workout!

  20. I’d use mine to chop small amounts of aromatic veggies for cooking. Adorable little machine, but packs a punch.

  21. I would use it to chop up my huge crop of gypsy peppers from the garden for gypsy pepper jelly!

  22. I make pesto almost on a weekly basis. I have to haul out my huge food processor every time. This would make my life so much easier when making pesto, sauces, toppings or even baby food.

  23. I would make pesto, salsa, dips and everthing else with this. I have been needing one of these for a while.

  24. Summer pesto, with all kinds of greens and nuts! We just made a kale-sunflower seed pesto from Cook’s Illustrated last night, it was tasty!

  25. Being a vegetarian, it would make preparing all my vegetables for recipes so much quicker…so i’d use it to make just about EVERYTHING!!

  26. Anytime I need smaller quantities processed (herbs, onions, garlic, nuts, etc) and hauling out the big food processor is not worth it.

  27. I would make pesto! I have basil growing and am looking forward to making a lot so I can freeze some pesto to enjoy year around! I also would chop up large pieces of meat to add to thai recipes!

  28. I heard that this particular processor chops up all the ingredients you need finely… so your salsa will heap up on your tortilla chips! I would love to try it!.

  29. I actually got a little dizzy when I saw the picture of a Cuisinart Mini Processor!
What would I use it for? Pie crust, humus, herbs, shredding meat, salsa, pesto, refried beans, soup and sauce additions, onions, garlic, peppers, celery, carrots, tomatoes… shall I keep going? This will make a handy tool for someone that does a lot of cooking from scratch.

  30. WOW! I’d definitely love that mini processor. I’d jump right on that PB Blackbottom Pie then the Cinnamon Rolls!

  31. I’d love to have this to make dog & cat treats! I make them in small batches so they are nice and fresh as I feed them a raw diet.

  32. I love fresh hummus and this would be great for that! or pie crust. so much easier than a pastry blender.

  33. I love fresh pesto but it’s hard to make a small batch in my big processor. This would be perfect.

  34. Small batches of stuff is always great and I kind of fried my large food processor’s engine. Still works though. Shoot smoke out of it every once in a while….

  35. I would use this to make pesto, but I like pesto enough to make more than 2 cups. :)
But really, I’d use it for some fire roasted salsa!

  36. I have been thinking about getting one of these! Way cool that you’re offering the give away. Thank you for the opportunity!
(Love your site by the way!)

  37. I would make lots of dips and maybe chimichurri! I’ve been using fresh herbs all summer for light dips and sauces.

  38. I haven’t been able to master really delicious homemade hummus yet – this would be perfect to practice!

  39. Anything that sounds like it should be blended together – the possibilities are endless.

  40. This would be perfect for anything making breadcrumbs, since I usually only need a handful. Crossing my fingers to get win one!

  41. I can think of many, many ways that this mini food processor would make everyday cooking so much easier!

  42. What will I make? The possibilities are endless! How about pulsing some jalapeños for a nice fresh salsa? Definitely!

  43. Your cinnamon date rolls–I made them yesterday and they were lovely–it would certainly be nicer to make them next time with your little workhorse.

  44. When I am feeling too lazy to get out the knife and board to chop a small onion or nuts . Plus I hand wash the knife and this could go in the dishwasher! Bonus!

  46. Would love to win this! Will give me a way to chop up all those veggies that are piling up these weeks.

  47. I have some garlic scapes in my fridge and basil in my garden– waiting to be turned into pesto!

  48. well as a novice cook, I’d initially stick with the known and then I could branch out to other dishes and treats.

  49. would use this alot as I cook for a large family, it cut down chopping time when making dinner

  50. Well just about anything I guess I have never owned one so I imagine I can use it for anything I cut with a knife and more. Arthritis is getting bad so this would really help out. Hope to win!!! Thanks

  51. Mainly, I would use this mini food processor to chop onions, peppers, and such. The fact that it’s a mini works perfectly for me, as I generally cook for myself and housemate.
