The Internet Kitchen: Vamos a Peru!

The Internet Kitchen: Vamos a Peru!

Jump to Recipe

Today Betsy and I board a plane to head off to Peru for two weeks. Betsy and I have always wanted to hike to Machu Picchu so we booked the hike reservations seven months ago and bought our flights!

I’ll write more about the trip when we get back and also post some photos of my own.

We are really excited to head down (way) south for a few weeks though!

The side effect of this trip is that I’ll be almost completely off the tech grid for the next two weeks. This is probably the best for my mental health. Recently I’ve felt like I’m living in this Portlandia skit (sound).

Over the next two weeks I have some fun stuff scheduled to pop up on Macheesmo while I’m out. Next week, I’m posting five of Betsy’s favorite recipes from the archives that are from the early years of Macheesmo. Then in the second week we’ll have some new recipes and a few great guest posts!

I hope everyone has a good beginning of fall and I’ll see you all in a few weeks!

No Bake Bars – These are mimicked after some of my favorite store-bought bars and look really easy and delicious. (@ Brown Eyed Baker)

What is a Crumpet? – To be honest, I had no earthly idea before reading this. Plus, a crumpet recipe obviously. (@ Cupcake Project)

Meatball Sandwich – A homemade meatball hoagie. Beautiful photos that made my mouth water. I want this plus a weekend of football when I get back from Peru. (@ David Lebovitz)

The Dish of The Year – Bon Appetit just named their dish of the year a kale salad. For real? Here’s a good taste test of the dish. (@ Bitten Word)
