The Internet Kitchen: Telluride!

The Internet Kitchen: Telluride!

Jump to Recipe

A bunch of Betsy’s coworkers planned a winter getaway trip to the small mountain town of Telluride this weekend.

The original plan was to rent a house and ski a bit and eat our faces off.

Of course, because of my recent knee injury, there won’t be any skiing for me this weekend.

I still plan to take full advantage of the relaxing weekend though.  I’m actually planning on wondering around the town and taking a lot of photos so maybe I’ll post some next week.

I’m also in charge of the cooking for the weekend (about 12 people), so that will keep me busy.

The Poll

No poll this week because I’ll be out of town and then next week I’m having my surgery on my knee so my kitchen access will be pretty limited.

I’m actually going to cut back on posting next week due to the surgery, but I’ll probably just take a few days off.

In truth, I get antsy if I just lay on the couch for days, so I expect to be up and functioning as soon as possible.

The Links

Fresh Guacamole Guacamole is one of my favorite appetizers and this is just a really cute little short film about it.  Can you imagine if you could make guacamole out of anything?!  (@ Youtube found via Endless Simmer)

Food Mashups – One of my favorite time-waster websites is McSweeney’s.  It’s constantly updated with really smart and funny articles.  This was a recent list that was posted.  Sometimes I really think this is what food manufacturers must do to come up with some of the things they dream up. (@ McSweeney’s)

The Hunger Games Lamb Stew – Betsy is obsessed with The Hunger Games series right now.  She read the first two books in three days.  I haven’t tried them out yet, but I’m sure I will like them.  I’m also sure I would like this lamb stew. (@ Spinach Tiger)

Sauteed Brussel Sprouts – Brussel Spouts are one of my favorite side dishes.  They are drastically underrated in my opinion so I feel obligated to promote them anytime I see a good brussel sprouts post. (@ Food Loves Writing)

– Add Me to a Google+ circle.

And, of course, you can always subscribe to Macheesmo via the feed or via email!

Have a good weekend everyone!  If you need me, I’ll be in the hot tub!

  1. I have destination envy! I love Telluride. There is a great v.small Mexican place on the left as you look at the picture you’ve taken. A little courtyard is outside. If it is still’s a ‘must chomp’

  2. I hope you have an awesome weekend and that your surgery goes well! And Betsy is right– The Hunger Games is an awesome series. You should read them during your recovery from surgery. They’re the perfect books to get lost in. I finished them in less than a week because you just can’t stop reading once you start. :)

  3. “I’m in charge of the cooking for the weekend” = why Nick was invited

haha, jfwy. hope you are enjoying your weekend getaway. i’m enjoying the hell out of my weekend doing nothing (I just turned in my 1L appellate brief on friday and i’m so glad that nightmare is over – betsy knows what i’m talkin about)
