The Internet Kitchen: SXSW!

Big news people. A few months ago I got invited to speak on a really fun panel at this year’s South By Southwest Interactive conference! After I confirmed that the invite wasn’t an elaborate trick being played on me, I accepted as fast as I could.

If you don’t know what South By Southwest is, it’s a large conference every year in Austin, TX that combines nerds, music lovers, and film makers into a multi-day tech/music/film fest. I’ve never actually been but I’m pretty sure I’m going to love it and never want to leave.

Now that we have the panel time and participants completely confirmed, I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it because I think it’s going to be pretty fun and our panel is going to rock.

The panel is called, “The Moguls of Food Porn” and was created by Stacie Capone from Foodie Two Shoes and Small Media XL. In addition to yours truly, Nadia from The Cooking Channel Show Bitchin’ Kitchen and Matt from Matt Bites will be on the panel as well.

So basically the panel is 3 super-experienced, successful bloggers and/or media forces. And me.

But I’m hoping I can give some insight as the newbie on the panel, and let’s face it. At the end of the day we’re gonna be talking about food porn so I think it’ll be pretty hilarious and fun no matter what.

A few links!

How and Why To Salt – I know that salt is very important, maybe the most important thing in the kitchen. But I sometimes forget about all the different kinds. This is an awesome post showing off some of the varieties of salt. (@ Hunter, Angler, Gardener, Cook)

50 Ways to Feed Your Lover – Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and while I’m not a huge V-Day fan, I found this post to be pretty hilarious and interesting. I think maybe I’ll splurge this year and get Betsy a Flask Bra… (@ Endless Simmer)

Red Velvet Whoopie Pies – I love red velvet anything and for some reason I’ve never thought to make whoopie pies out of it. This might actually be a good idea for Valentine’s Day. (@ Brown Eyed Baker)

Buta Kimchi – After I posted my Youtube videos earlier in the week, I went on a bit of a kimchi kick. Then Marc’s recipe popped up on my feed and I almost ate my computer screen. (@ No Recipes)

Have a great weekend everyone! If you need me, I’ll be polishing up on my public speaking skills!

    1. I'll try. I know SXSW audio records some if not all presentations so hopefully I can at least post audio from it after the conference.
