The Internet Kitchen: Recovery

The Internet Kitchen: Recovery

Jump to Recipe

I’ve had a nagging sickness for the last week or so. My sinuses have been stuffy and gross for days, but luckily that has been the extent of the sickness for the most part. I’ve become a huge fan of the Neti pot which is an awkward little contraption, but it delivers some much needed sinus relief.

Two days ago I decided to get out and go for a jog even with this nagging sickness and lo and behold, I feel much better after doing so! Sometimes exercise can do wonders for your health even if it feels terrible while you’re doing it.

I’m finally feeling back to normal though!

  1. Glad you are feeling better! When I get sick, which is very rare, I always exercise and recover much quicker as well. So yes exercise is even good while your sick. Yet another befit from exercise.

  2. Bummer, I can relate to the sinus issue. Lately mines have been awful and just the slightest touch of my nose sets of crazy sneezing and flooding eyes :( I actually have a Guinness recipe in the oven right now, total experiment so we’ll see how this flies..

  3. Hey Nick –
Regular reader here, wishing you a speedy recovery. I’m also a big fan of the Neti pot. I’ve used one regularly for years, and always with salted (or more recently, salted and baking soda-ed) hot tap water, to no ill effect. Then a doctor friend told me she had encountered someone who got a brain parasite (!!!) from using tap water in their Neti! And yes, this is in the US!

So you may already know this (but in case your other readers don’t), doctors recommend that you use a Neti pot with BOILED tap water, or store-bought distilled water.
