The Internet Kitchen: Holiday Weekend

This summer has been a complete whirlwind for me.  I thought I was going to have a lot of downtime since Betsy and I moved to Colorado but the exact opposite has been true.  I think we’ve been home for 3 weekends in the last 3 months.  I’m not even joking that we’ve been gone almost every weekend.

This weekend is no exception!  We’re hitting the road for a good friend’s wedding in Denver.  I’m looking forward to it because I’ve only really explored Denver once or twice so I’m excited to check it out again.

I hope you have some fun relaxing plans this weekend also.  If possible, I highly recommend firing up the grill.  This is one of those weekends that is just made for a lazy grill day.

For the poll this week, let’s celebrate the start of football season!  The winning recipe will be posted on Thursday as always.

Instead of links, here are a few awesome grilling recipes I’ve done over the years on Macheesmo to give you some ideas for the weekend!

Three Dry Rubs – If you’re at a loss with what to do with your steaks, chicken, pork, or veggies this weekend then try one of these guys out.

Sante Fe Burgers – Over two years old, but still one of my favorite burger recipes.

Homemade Veggie Burgers – Labor day isn’t just for meat eaters.  Heck… these burgers are better than most beef burgers.  I made these for Tablespoon earlier in the year.

California Turkey Burgers – I think you can consider these healthy even!  I’m not a huge turkey burger fan, but I dig these.

Grilled Veggie Pizza – No reason at all that you have to make burgers.  Pizza can definitely be on the menu… as long as it’s grilled.

Grilled Potato Salad – You’ll probably need a few sides over the weekend.  Might as well grill those also!

Hopefully that’ll give you some ideas for the weekend.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone!
