The Internet Kitchen: Hit the Slopes!

The Internet Kitchen: Hit the Slopes!

Jump to Recipe

We so live in Colorado now. Our January is jam-packed full of ski/snowboard adventures almost every single weekend this month.

Keep in mind that neither of us have been skiing in probably 7 years. We’re starting off slow with a half-day jaunt to our local mountain (Powderhorn), but then we have trips to Breckenridge and Aspen planned also this month.

We’ll be in Aspen during the Winter X Games which should be a blast. I’m pretty sure I’ll get to see snow mobiles jumping flaming buildings or something like that.

I anticipate that this will be a very fun and also very painful month because of this. If I recall correctly, skiing and snowboarding use muscles that you really don’t use for anything else. Add in a few dozen crashes and I’ll probably be bedridden for the entire month.

How about a celebrity chef poll this week?

And a few links!

Never Said About Restaurant Websites – I despise restaurant websites. They make me want to start a hacking career. Luckily now I can just release steam by reading this new Tumblr site which compiles funny things that people would never say about restaurant websites. My favorite so far: “‘I don’t want the restaurant’s title to appear right away. I want to watch it slowly write itself out … in cursive.’ Nobody.” (@ NSARW)

How to Find Real FoodA hilarious flow chart to help you navigate the supermarket. Watch out for the light bulbs! (@ Summer Tomato)

40 Healthy Recipes for 2011 – A fantastic list of healthy recipes to get you started in the new year. Whether your goal is to cook more or just be healthier, this is a really awesome start from a trusted source. (@ Brown Eyed Baker)

Braised Endives – I love endives, but I usually have them raw or lightly sauteed. I’ve seen the braised endive thing before (it’s a Julia Child recipe), but this is a fun new way to see the recipe. If you have a few minutes check out the video! The video doesn’t automatically play. (@ Sippity Sup)

Have a great weekend everyone. Stay warm!
