The Internet Kitchen: Handling Handies

The Internet Kitchen: Handling Handies

In less than a month Betsy and I will be tackling the Machu Picchu trail in Peru so we are trying to do some longer and steeper hikes in preparation for that.

This weekend we are doing one of the easier 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado called Handies Peak. It’s pretty close to our house so we can just camp one night and then do the peak the next morning.

The climb is about four thousand feet of elevation gain so I’ll get to test out my knee and my lungs before the big trip!

How to Roll Spring Rolls – I posted one of my favorite spring roll recipes yesterday, but this post is an incredibly thorough post on how to actually roll the suckers. Check it out if you need some help! (@ White on Rice Couple)

Roasted Eggplant with Yogurt – I haven’t eaten much (or any) eggplant this summer. It’s one of my favorite veggies though. This roasted version looks fantastic. (@ Not Derby Pie)

Six Ways to Preserve Zucchini – It’s zucchini harvesting time and you might be short on ideas for how to manage all the zukes. Here’s a good list to get you started! (@ Food in Jars)

Five Great Appetizer Spreads – Whether you are making some stuff for a football game or planning a end of summer picnic, these all look fantastic. (@ The Perfect Pantry)
