The Internet Kitchen: Chill Month

The month of May was pretty crazy for me! Besides being out of town almost every weekend, I started cooking breakfast at a homeless shelter, and Betsy and I got a new dog!

It all resulted in me being a bit maxed out last month.

Luckily, my schedule for June is very free. I’m excited to get in a few low-key weekends with some hiking, dog playing, and general relaxing.

And this my be a shock to you, but I’ll probably be cooking some things also!

I want to make a fun jelly shot this week from They Jelly Shot Test Kitchen.

And a few links!

Grilled Mussels – This might be shocking but I’m learning that I can actually get pretty decent seafood here. Turns out we are on a major flight path to Las Vegas so we get pretty regular deliveries of good seafood. I might have to find some mussels so I can do this. (@ Bitten Word)

Cucumber Basil Spritzers – This looks perfect for a hot summer day. No booze needed! Although a shot of rum or vodka probably couldn’t hurt… (@ Healthy Delicious)

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies – I remember as a kid I used to buy those refrigerated cookie dough packages and just eat it like a bag of chips. So I feel pretty good about any recipe that involves lots of cookie dough. (@ Recipe Girl)

French Apple Cake – A beautiful cake. For some reason this just grabbed hold of me in my reader this week and I couldn’t shake it. I haven’t made it, but if someone were to show up on my doorstep with it, I’d have a piece. Or four. (@ Crepes of Wrath)

Have a great and hopefully relaxing weekend everyone!
