The Internet Kitchen: A Homecoming!

The Internet Kitchen: A Homecoming!

I’m back in DC for a few days for a work project. It’s always really interesting to visit a place after you’ve lived there for a while. You remember some things intuitively, but forget others.

I swear I could still navigate the DC metro with my eyes closed, but I somehow forgot that in April, in DC, it’s freakin’ hot.

I forgot that it’s a really bad idea to only pack jeans if you’re going to DC in April because DC in April is similar to the climate in the fourth level of hell. Could be worse. But not jeans weather.

I know. I know. First world problem!

In general though, I love this city and visiting it is even better than living here.

For the poll this week, let’s make one of my favorite DC things.

I was pretty delinquent in my food blogger duties to present you with fun Easter ideas this week. So here’s a few Easter links for ya!

Is healthy Dessert Possible? This is important during holidays like Easter. Remember that “health” isn’t a single choice, but instead of pattern of choices. That means that you can let yourself go a bit on special occasions and still be very healthy. (@ Summer Tomato)

Great Easter Brunch Ideas – A great roundup of some fun Easter brunch ideas. It’s even split into breakfasty brunches and lunchy brunches! And trust me, there’s a difference. (@ Bitten Word)

Cupcakes in Eggs – Yep. That’s right. An actual cupcake baked inside of a real egg. I agree. It’s kind of crazy, but it apparently works and would be awesome for a cupcake Easter egg hunt! (@ Cupcake Project)

Chocolate Easter Nests – Ok. So if you don’t have time to bake cupcakes in individual egg shells, these are maybe a bit more realistic. These are colorful and totally fun for the kids! (@ Ezra Pound Cake)

Have a great Easter weekend everyone!
