Footbah Season

Footbah Season

Jump to Recipe

Well, it’s that time of the year when the entire United States turns into a rabid crowd of screaming fans yelling at over-paid, very large men to move a ball.

That makes it sound like I don’t like football. But, I can’t resist. I love watching the game, but I also love the atmosphere. Hanging out with friends, cooking good food, and yelling at over-paid, very large men to MOVE THE BALL.

For those interested, here are my very quick views on all the football issues in the news these days:

Will you let your kid play football? No. Won’t be a problem b/c he will have, at best, a soccer player build.

Should college players get paid? In certain cases, yes. It’s basically a secondary professional league at this point.

Did the Patriots cheat? Yes, but pretty much every team cheats. They push the rules to win. Sometimes they get caught.

Should Brady be suspended? No, but also don’t care.

Who will win the Super Bowl? Colts.

Is Roger Goodell a robot? Likely.

For good fall tailgate eating…

Chili Cheese Hasselback Potatoes – These are just awesome. Definitely would be a show stopper at a tailgate. I think you could even make them in advance and reheat them on a grill. (@ Real Food by Dad)

Stuffed Pepperoni Pizza Rolls – Another quick game day appetizer that’s sure to be a hit. Roll it up, bake it, share it (or not). (@ The Cookie Rookie)

Slow Cooker Hot Corn Dip – I might use fresh corn for this because it’s still plentiful, but you get the idea. Cheese. Corn. Hotness. (@ Creme de la Crumb)

Olive oil Dark Chocolate Brownies – This is my kind of brownie because it’s loaded with good chocolate and has a savory slant to it. (@ Mango and Tomato)

Have a great weekend everybody! Be sure to check back tomorrow for a crazy brunch dish!
