In the hot, late summer days, I look forward to starting the day with a crisp and cool smoothie! This Double Almond Smoothie is easy to blend up and really filling. It’s a great way to start any day or also it makes a great quick pick-me-up snack for kiddos!

I used two different almond ingredients for this smoothie (hence the double). First, I used O Organics® Almond Beverage which is a great plant-based non-dairy beverage that is so creamy and wonderful. I mixed that with Open Nature® Almond Butter with Honey. Those two things together give the smoothie a really rich flavor.

And here’s the best part. Each smoothie that this recipe makes has a whopping 16g of protein in it. That’s a guaranteed good way to start the day.

I bought all the ingredients for this smoothie at my local Safeway, and you can also find them exclusively at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Shaw’s, Star Market, and United Supermarkets. Visit Safeway.com/exclusivebrands to find a store near you and discover meal prep tips and recipe ideas.

Shopping at Safeway is always something I look forward to in the week. I know I can find high-quality ingredients for a great value. Their Open Nature line is filled with products free from 110 food additives, plus has plenty of gluten-free, high protein, and plant-based products and the O Organics line is entirely USDA certified organic while still being affordable.

Also, Safeway offers Grocery Delivery and Drive Up & Go™ for convenient ways to shop. SO important and helpful right now!

How to Make the Almond Smoothie

Ingredients for smoothie.

The ingredients for this smoothie are so delicious.

For starters, this Icelandic Style yogurt is really thick and creamy. It thickens the smoothie nicely and gives it some tang to counteract the richness of the almond butter.

Speaking of almond butter, I could eat this Creamy Almond Butter with a spoon.

No tricks to this part. Add the stuff to your blender and blend it up!

I like to serve these smoothies with a little sprinkle of chia seeds and hemp seeds. They add some nice texture and interest to the smoothies.
