Around the Internet Kitchen – Birthday Fun

It’s my birthday next week and I usually don’t do a lot on my B-day. This year I’m talking a little weekend trip down to Atlantic City – the town of gambling and Rascal scooters!

I’m actually in AC right now! I managed to pull myself away from the craps table just long enough to post this. See how much I care about you?!

Now for some links:

50 of the World’s Best Food Blogs – Times Online did a good job of pulling together a list of the best food blogs out there which is a tough thing to do given the sheer number of food blogs on the Internet. They did leave out one, ahem, very decent food blog, but I won’t hate on them for it ;) (@ Timesonline)

25 Best Blogs of 2009 – Want even more lists of very good blogs?! Here ya go. Time Magazine published this list and I guess I generally agree with their list. My one beef with this list is that I don’t like it when companies put out the “best of 2009” in February. Seems a bit early to be declaring that these are the best of the year. If Arianna Huffington decided to retire tomorrow their list becomes a bit flawed. (@ Time)

Top 10 Movie Food Moments – A very great roundup of some of the best food moments in TV history. Embedded videos make for a good few minutes of watching. They did leave off the classic When Harry Met Sally scene, but nobody’s perfect. (@ Endless Simmer)

Homemade Nutella – When I saw this I almost ate my computer screen. I never even considered that it was a possibility making something like Nutella at home. Does that mean it can taste even better? I can’t fathom that. I will most likely try this in the next few weeks. (@ LA Times. Thanks to @cookingwithamy for the link.)

Pepperoni Bread – I’ve had various versions of Pepperoni bread and while it is pretty easy to make, it isn’t easy to make right. You want enough pepperoni to be very flavorful, but if you over-stuff then you will just have a mess on your hands. Getting a loaf with a crunchy crust is also tough. This is pretty much spot on I think. (@ Pete bakes)

Have a good weekend everyone and wish me luck on the tables. If I win, maybe I’ll do a give away on Macheesmo in the next few weeks. Like a new car or something. Or a cookbook.
