When planning for a big food-centered event like a certain football game this weekend, I think it’s important to serve something super colorful and healthy along with the wings, queso, and whatever else graces your table. This 10 Layer Greek dip is perfect. It’s pretty straightforward to toss together, has loads of crunchy veggies, and great Mediterranean flavors. It’s so good that my family honestly almost made a dinner out of it!

Too much of a good thing can be exactly that: too much. For example, I once spent a weekend with some friends on a weekend beer, meat, cheese extravaganza. By the end of it, I recall going to a game-day party and craving the lettuce off the top of somebody else’s taco dip. My body was like, “VEGGIES PLEASE.”

I like to serve this dip with Simply 7 Quinoa Chips which are really light and crispy but still hold up to the dip. If you’ve never tried them, they are excellent and come in a few different flavors! Like this recipe? Check out my 12 easy game day recipes.

What is the Base of this Layer Dip?

Many layer dips start with a heavier base layer like sour cream or cream cheese. I went for something lighter though for this dip.  The base is a mix of hummus, Greek yogurt, olive oil, and some simple spices. Trust me that it’s delicious!

As an alternative you could use tzatziki sauce for your base layer. I make a homemade version in these Lamb Gyro Flatbreads.

What are the layers in this dip?

This greek layer dip is mostly just chopping and it doesn’t totally matter what order you do the layering. Here’s my order though!

First is the crunchy green peppers and cucumber. Be sure to scoop out the seeds in the cucumber (too much water).

BUILD!

Next layer is chopped artichokes and kalamata olives! Be sure to get the artichokes that are in water not in oil.

Now for some color! Add grape tomatoes and chopped banana peppers! You could also use red peppers for this layer.

MORE.

And finally some feta and fresh parsley! How could you not love the colors here?!

This dip can obviously be made well in advance, but I wouldn’t go for longer than a day in advance as some of the veggies start to lose their luster after a day or so. Make it the day before though and it’ll be perfect for tomorrow’s game!

It’s a total winner of a dip.

Other Layer Options and Ideas

This dip is very flexible. I honestly use it as a fridge-cleaning dip and mix in whatever I happen to have though. Here are a few ideas!

  • Celery or minced red onion – For extra crunch these are great additions.
  • Fresh mint or fresh basil – For an extra herb layer.
  • Lemon zest or frest lemon juice for a citrus punch.
  • Pickled jalapenos for a spicy kick.

What to serve with this Greek Layer Dip

Dip in something crunchy for this dip. I served mine with these Simply 7 chips, but you could use pita chips, crispy baked naan bread, or even tortilla chips in a pinch!

If you want to go over the top, you could serve this dip with fresh baked pita wedges like I made for these Greek Nachos!
