Now that my knee surgery is over, I’m starting to realize the long term view of the situation: Therapy every day for months and months.
At first I was a bit bummed by this, but as I do the therapy everyday I’m reminded of two things.
First, I’m reminded at how awesome the human body is. It’s amazing how fast my knee is healing and at the moment I’m really excited to do therapy every day just to see what kind of new progress I’ve made in the last 24 hours.
I’m fairly certain this enthusiasm will grind to a hault when the instant gratification wears off and the healing is more subtle, but right now it’s cool to watch my knee heal.
Second, I’m learning that I really enjoy long term projects. I love working on something every day and setting small goals that will lead to a larger goal down the road.
Still no poll this week because I’m still not quite ready to pick up my pots and pans yet. In the next week or so I should be off crutches for small distances which means I should be able to get back in the kitchen – something I’m really looking forward to!
