The Internet Kitchen: Cat in a Bowl!

by Nick

Animals are funny creatures.  I walked into our living room a few days ago and found my cat, Tipsy, snuggly nestled in  a bowl.

The funny thing was her expression which very clearly said, “What? Don’t judge me!”

This is maybe my favorite photo of Tipsy that I’ve ever taken so I had to share it even though I also tweeted it during the week.

The Poll

It’s Superbowl time and so let’s make something that goes well with football.  You pick!

The Links

A few links from around the Internet this week:

How to Peel Hazelnuts – I’ve often thought about trying something with raw hazelnuts, but never have. Mainly because they seem like a pain to peel… maybe not so bad though! (@ My Baking Addiction)

Cheddar and Ale Soup – This would be an amazing soup to make if you are hosting a Superbowl party. Actually, it would be good anytime, but definitely a good football soup. (@ Brown Eyed Baker)

Buckwheat Kumquat Loaf – Even if you never bake, check this recipe out. The loaf is an amazing color. I’ve never seen anything like it! (@ Not Derby Pie)

Parmesan Sour Cream Cupcakes – Savory cupcakes are all the rage these days and these sound right up my alley! (@ Cupcake Project)

  1. Years ago I had a cat I named Walter Payton because he was so sweet. I had a lead crystal bowl on my coffee table, and when Walter was a kitten he started curling up in it. As he grew, he continued to stuff himself into it until finally he just couldn’t do it. It was priceless to watch him!! Love kitties. Dogs, too, but ours doesn’t do bowls.
