Tuesday Treats: Cocktails!
Welcome to the holiday edition of Tuesday Treats!
I thought long and hard about a giveaway I could do this month that would help you get through the holiday season and I decided that helping you make delicious drinks is probably a good start.
So today you’re getting the chance to win a cool cocktail set so you can mix up some good libations over the holidays.

The Cocktail Kit
There are a ton of bar kits out there that come with all kinds of fancy pants tools and gadgets. As a previous bartender, I rarely used most of them.
Unless you are getting very advanced in your mixology, here are the most used tools in my opinion, all of which are included if you win this Tuesday Treat!
Shaker and Mixing Glass - In my opinion, the shakers that have the built in strainer are always kind of bad. They leak. They are hard to open. They are even harder to clean. The best way to shake is with a large stainless steel shaker glass and a pint glass. The two fit together and create a perfect seal so you can shake away like a pro.
The mixing glass that’s included also comes with some popular recipes printed right on the glass for easy measuring! I have this glass and it’s really helpful actually.
Strainer - If you’re making cocktails, it’s important to strain the drinks if you want a really professional look. This way you can shake with ice and then strain into a martini glass or even just strain it over fresh ice.
Muddler - Maybe it’s just me, but I think muddled drinks are delicious. A good muddler is a must have for me.
Jigger - If you bartend professionally, you can eyeball some drink measurements, but honestly even great bartenders still measure complicated drinks. The jigger that’s included in the giveaway is a great one that measures 1 ounce on one side and 1.5 ounces on the second side. There are also incremental markings in the inside so you can measure out stuff like 1/4 or 1/3 of an ounce.
It’s the only jigger you should need really.
So, if you win this Tuesday Treat then you’ll get all five of those tools sent to you. They should arrive before the holidays so you can practice some mixology!
Tuesday Treat Rules
Just a reminder about the Tuesday Treat rules.
The whole idea behind these giveaways is that they are quick. This contest will close at 7PM Eastern time tonight (Tuesday) and I’ll pick THREE winners at random. That means that you have just 12 hours to sign up. Unfortunately, I can’t ship internationally so just U.S. entries please.
Those three winners will get all of the above cocktail kit sent to them and I’ll do my best to make sure it gets there before the holidays!
How to enter?
It doesn’t get much easier. Just leave a comment and you’re entered! If you wanted to go above and beyond, maybe include a link to one of your favorite cocktails!
Good luck everyone!
Winners!
The winners for this Tuesday Treat were Angie, Tammy, and vanillasugarblog! Congrats winners!

I just served this drink at a cocktail party and it was a hit:
1/2 oz vodka, 2 oz sparkling cranberry juice, 3 oz champagne and fresh squeezed lime

I’ve got one of these on my Christmas Wish-maybe I’ll be able to take it off of there after tonight! An Old Fashioned is my favorite but I don’t really need a shaker for that do I? What I would make is a Sweet Tart:
4 Parts Vodka
1 Part Lime Juice
1 Part Pineapple Juice
1 Part Chambord
Shake with ice, strain and serve.
This baby packs a punch….

My favorite cocktail is definitely month-old rum that I found under my bed mixed with leftover cran-apple from a nasty cold I’m getting over… What? No one else?

If I were picking winners based on best drink… that would win. For sure. ;)

My favorite drink is a vodka martini. The shaker will come in handy. Vodka and just a drop (literally) of vermouth. Next is Irish Whisky with a lemon twist wiped around the rim of the glass on the rocks.
Happy Holiday

Been experimenting with infusing my own liquors (vodka now bourbon). This would be fabulous for mixing my cocktails!

That looks amazing! Definitely will give that a go. Also thinking about doing a black walnut infusion.

I would love to win – it’s time to stock my bar with some real tools

You say it the pint glass and stainless steel glass form a perfect seal, but whenever I am at a bar and see the bartender shaking away, I just know they are going to slip and the contents of my drink are going to go everywhere! ;)
