Around the Internet Kitchen – Anticipation

Well, isn't that pretty?

Less than a week from turkey day and the entire Internet is buzzing with Thanksgiving recipes. A year ago, I was not a food blogger and I still was feeling pretty excited, but this year is completely different. I spend a few hours a day now talking to food writers and tons of time reading various sites and it has just upped the level of anticipation to a new level.

But that is just me. You might not be as pumped.  Hopefully that will slightly change after you read all of this.

Before we get into the real meat of this post though, I wanted to talk about one of my favorite TV shows right now which is “Kitchen Nightmares.” If you haven’t seen it, basically, Gordon Ramsey storms around a piss-poor excuse for a restaurant and tries to reform it in to a successful establishment in just a week. The old school British version of this show was cool because he didn’t have a budget so he had to pretty much work within the guidelines of the restaurant he was visiting. Now that he has come to the U.S. though it is basically Extreme Makeover – Restaurant Edition. He completely revamps the entire restaurant and menu by himself and then hopefully they can keep up with it. My favorite part of the show is, of course, the yelling.

New Turkey Recipe I’m not sure if this link is work safe or not. I think it is because it is just a turkey. But it is FUNNY! I kind of want to try this when I have turkey day with my girlfriend’s parents this week (Hi Mary!). My problem with the idea is that you ruin all of that lovely skin because it won’t be perfectly crispy! (@ Grouchy Old Cripple)

Crispy Crepes with Apples, Brie, and Prosciutto Now I know I posted my own crepe recipe on Saturday, but man these crispy crepes look SO good. I keep looking at the photos and trying to eat my screen off. I think I might have to try a few of these for brunch after Thanksgiving. (@ Steamy Kitchen)

Sweet Potato Buttermilk Rolls Nicole over at Pinch My Salt had a tough week. Her hosting company somehow managed to delete like 11 days of lovely Thanksgiving posts. That is pretty much the worst thing that can happen to a blogger I reckon. Anyway, she worked tirelessly to get all the posts re-posted. So please check out these rolls. Decadent Sweet Cream Rice Pudding I mean come on. While apple pie is your traditional dessert for Thanksgiving, I want this! It just looks so wonderfully soothing. I’m not very good at rice pudding, but it might be worth getting good at it for this dish. (@ The Hungry Mouse)
